1 – 2 Step: LSU v. Bama

No.1 LSU squares off with No.2 Alabama later tonight in Tuscaloosa in what will be the game of the year.  If there is any doubt that these two teams will smash each other in mouth during this rivalry game, just understand that both sides are calling this a “war”.  This is uncharted territory for the dominant SEC as this matchup marks the only time the 1st and 2nd ranked teams are in the SEC and playing head-to-head in the regular season.

Defense will be the drink of choice tonight with the Crimson Tide ranks 1st in the nation in total defense, giving up under 200 yards per game, and LSU is ranked 4th at just about 250 yards per game.  If you’re looking for a shoot out, don’t count on this one to quench your thirst.

Look for the Tide to give the Tigers all they can handle with a heavy dose of Junior tailback Trent Richardson, and Sophomore Eddie Lacy who have combined for 1454 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.

With Senior quarterback Jarrett Lee hooking up with wideouts Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham for the majority of the passing snaps, the LSU offense is nothing to sneeze at.

This will be a close competition right down to the wire thanks to the ability of Alabama to run the ball efficiently.  If Alabama gets even a marginal lead, LSU will be effective in the catch-up/go-up passing game.  In the end…
