Thursday Night Football: Oakland Raiders @ San Diego Chargers

The ever exciting Thursday Night Football has arrived and half of the country is pissed because they can’t watch it.  If Carson Palmer resurrects the forgotten spirit of JaMarcus Russell, you won’t want to watch.  Ooor, maybe Philip Rivers (Jughead) will conjure that spirit… Oh wait, he already has.

If you don’t believe me, look up the stats.  I’m willing to give Palmer a “rusty-as-hell” waver for now.  Rivers, on the other hand, is another story.  Also, don’t be fooled by the stats from the Chargers game v. Green Bay.  Yes, he still threw 3 picks (granted, one of the them was volleyed and not really his fault).

Darren McFadden.  Oh where, oh where have you gone?  McFadden’s injury to his right foot will keep him out of tonight’s game and hurt the chances of the Raiders to get a vital road division victory.  The AFC West stinks, so 5-4 will give you a quick leg up.

So where, does this tip?  A Chargers O that looked “better”, and a D that got torched by a Packers freight train? Or, a Raiders O without their best player, and a D that hasn’t looked too awful yet?

I’ll give the tip to the Bolts.  The game is at home, Carson Palmer still has cobwebs in his head, and again… no McFadden.

Jughead still has a lot of weapons surrounding him and he showed flashes of pulling his head out of his ass end last week.  Palmer, no matter what he hasn’t done so far, still has more skill than any Raiders’ QB in the last several years.  That being said, I don’t know that he’ll be able to avoid the jello arm that will develop from having to play keep up-catch up for most of the contest.
