Shut up. I mean it. Shut. Up.
If you’re a fan of the SEC, please shut up. You’re not allowed to piss and moan about the fact that LSU will likely face Alabama in the National Championship game because it’s what has been created in the big bad monster that is college football. If you don’t know what I mean, reference Yankees/Red Sox and you might understand what I’m talking about.
All SEC fans, not just the ones whose team is likely playing for the national title, like to cry about everything that happens in the BCS. The trouble is, you can’t have it both ways. Be glad your teams are in it. Hell, even if you’re a Tennessee fan you should be happy for this. It shows the dominance of your conference, and we all know how you want to shove that as far down everyone’s throat as quickly as possible.
Now, I’m not saying that I want to see LSU play ‘Bama again. Unfortunately, that’s how it works. How many times does this happen in the NFL playoffs? DEAL WITH IT. Of course I’m not one that thought the original LSU/Bama defensive battle was bad either. That seems to be a big reason why most don’t want to see this again. Too bad. You Houston v. Oregon in the BCS championship game? No way in hell you want that.
In a world where UCLA Head Coach Rick Neuheisel is going to play Oregon in the first ever PAC-12 Championship game and be fired regardless of the outcome immediately after, and where the only thing that was interesting in the Big-10 was that Michigan beat Ohio State for the first time since, I don’t know, the pet rock was popular, everyone should just SHUT UP about a LSU/Bama rematch.
Shut up pundits, shut up fans, shut up people who want a playoff system instead of the BCS system. It’s old, tired, redundant. Shut up.
